  • M. Lacrosse. Men's Lax Team Opens Season at #3 in MCLA D2 - GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - Coming off their Final Four appearance in 2009, the Men's Lacrosse team earned enough votes to be placed at #3 in the MCLA D2 pre-season poll. Head Coach Bob Clarkson and his Panthers will open the season on February 13 when they take on Oakland University in Pontiac.
  • M. Lacrosse. Nathaniel Adkins becomes 1st Men's Lax Signee for 2011 - GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The 2010 season is less than a week away and Head Coach Bob Clarkson is already adding pieces for 2011. Clarkson recently signed Ohio product Nathaniel Adkins as the first in the class of 2015. DU will open their current season on Saturday in Pontiac when they take on Oakland University.
  • Track. Holt's National Qualifying Mark Highlights Track & Field Team at Taylor - UPLAND, Ind. - Areil Holt became the first female in 2009-10 at DU to qualify for the National Championships with a "B" Standard time in the 60m run this past weekend at Taylor University. Jason Cogswell improved his weight throw to an "A" Standard as he joined five other athletes in breaking school records.
  • M. Ice Hockey. Quack, Quack - DU Defeats Oakland in Shootout - Keeps Good Luck Duck for 3rd Straight Year - ROCHESTER, Mich. - Davenport's March Thompson scored the lone goal in the shootout as Scott Knight stopped all shots he faced as the Panthers downed the Grizzlies 3-2 (1-0 shootout) to retain the Good Luck Duck for the 3rd straight season. DU is now 25-14 with four regular season games remaining.
  • Baseball. Big Innings from Lancers Lead to Sweep on Day Two in California - GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - On another tough day in terms of weather in California, the Davenport baseball team was doomed by free passes and big innings. The Panthers fell to California Baptist twice with scores of 11-2 and 14-3 as the host Lancers scored all 25 runs in a matter of four innings on the day. The Panthers issued 25 free passes and the host Lancers would capitalize to score 25 runs on 18 hits.
  • M. Basketball. 22% Shooting Dooms #13 Panthers in 51-44 Loss at Madonna - LIVONIA, Mich. - A poor start and dismal shooting doomed the #13 ranked Panthers on Saturday as they were upset by Madonna by the score of 51-44. The loss drops DU to 20-6 on the year and 9-1 in the WHAC.

Basketball. #2 Lady Panthers Cruise to 90-75 Win over Madonna - GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The three-pointer again was DU's best friend today as they hit 12 long range shots as they cruised to a 90-75 win over visiting Madonna. The #2 ranked Lady Panthers are now 23-2 on the year and 9-1 in the WHAC. Combined with an Aquinas loss, DU now has a two-game lead with five remaining.
  • M. Ice Hockey. Adam Thomas becomes All-Time Points Leader in DU Hockey History - GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - Adam Thomas has become the all-time leading points scorer at Davenport University as he passed former DU captain Marc Lira in the record books last week against Ferris State. Thomas broke Lira's mark of 313 on an assist against the Bulldogs on Saturday, January 30.
  • M. Ice Hockey. Panthers Even "Good Luck Duck" Series with Convincing 4-1 Win - GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - Two goals from Matt Morang and two points each from Adam Thomas and Brit Ouellette lifted the Panthers to a convincing 4-1 win over Oakland at home on Friday night. DU will travel to Rochester on Saturday for the deciding game in the "Good Luck Duck" series.
  • Baseball. Baseball Splits on Opening Day vs. Cal Baptist - RIVERSIDE, Calif. - Davenport opened their 2010 baseball season with a split on day one as they defeated Cal Baptist 10-6 in the opener before falling on a walk-off HR in the second 11-10. The Panthers will face the Lancers twice more on Saturday.

Tony Deakin Sets Eyes on Soccer in Australia - GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - Former DU Soccer All-American Tony Deakin has signed a contract in Australia and will be leaving the West Michigan community in mid-March. DU would like to congratulate Tony on his accomplishment and wish him the best!
  • M. Ice Hockey. Panthers Fall 3-0 to Grizzlies in First of Three-Game Series over Weekend - ROCHESTER, Mich. - The "Good Luck Duck" series renewed tonight in Rochester as the host Grizzlies got one leg up with a 3-0 win. With the loss, Davenport falls to 23-14 on the year as they will host Oakland on Friday night at 8:00 PM at Patterson.
  • Ice Hockey. #3 D3 Panthers Host #2 Hope on Saturday in Breast Cancer Awareness Game - GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Davenport D3 Hockey team will host #2 ranked Hope College on Saturday night in a game where all of the proceeds will go directly towards the Van Andel Institute. The Panthers and Dutch will face off at 7:00 PM at Patterson Ice Center.
  • Athletes and Staff Experience Gail Hand - GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - Gail Hand is not yet a worldwide globetrotter. She could be described as a Western Hemisphere vagabond, having logged speaking engagements to over 1,000 corporations over the past 20 years. This past Monday, her stop was Davenport University in Grand Rapids and the Student Center.

Ecford's Double-Double Helps DU to 80-64 Win at Dearborn - DEARBORN, Mich. - #13 Davenport followed up their big win over rival Cornerstone last week with a tough 80-64 road win against UM Dearborn on Wednesday night. The Panthers have now won 8 games in a row and are 20-5 on the year and 9-0 in league play.
