Being from Cal, I love how you have them at 9. But to be honest, I do not think we are going to be THAT great. I see us being a consistently ranked around 15....but we just do not have the post presence to content with the greatest teams out there. For sure though, our backcourt is one of the greatest in the nation. Our trio of Christopher, Randle, and Robertson can all shoot.

not sure xavier and cal belong in the top ten when there are other more deserving teams. both have plenty of question marks. kansas is going to be scary (again), and i don't know if i don't just put unc in my top 3..ed davis and deon thompson will be one of the best front courts in the country--and you're right, a ton of recruits coming in.

I have to figure Xavier is going to take a step back next year. Losing two of your best players and your coach is hard for anyone to overcome. Plus, the A-10 is really closing the gap as it is.

Xavier has quietly become the powerhouse for basketball in the state of Ohio in the last 5 years or so. It's good to see they'll probably be reloaded and ready to contend again next year. I really hope Derrick Brown comes back to school - he's improved considerably from his freshman year, but he could be a great senior leader on a team full of talent (worked out OK for David West, I think).

It does say a lot about a program when "bigger" schools consistently come in to cherry pick their coach. Either Xavier does a great job of hiring promising coaches or there's something about the program that seems to breed coaching talent.

To a degree it has to be the coach, the players aren't going to go to the school just because it has some type of basketball program. You have to be able to recruit the guys you think you need to make the program a success which is part of the coaching job.

Will never forget that Xavier-Ohio State game a couple years ago. A few converted free throws and Xavier knocks off the top-ranked team in the country.

with cali now ahead of arizona st. in the conference standings as well as overall, i think we will overtake their 6 seed, especially if we beat them. and washington is not a lock yet for the pac 10 champion, if they lose their last conference game and ucla wins theirs, they share it.

Interesting...I agree with a lot of your picks, but I focused on the Pac-10 picks that you made because thats the conference I mainly follow. After today, it can be said that California should definitely be higher than a 10 seed, if UCLA will be a 4 seed, and Washington and Arizona St. are 5 seeds. Although UCLA is tied for 2nd in the conference with Cal and Arizona st., I still think that they will somehow pull off on top at the end of the season some how.
