Texas A&M University-Commerce golfer Eric Westerman won the second annual Victoria City Championship on Sunday.
Westerman posted a 3-over 74 in the final round at the Victoria Country Club for a three-shot victory and 54-hole total of 218 (73-71-74).
"I actually played pretty well today, I just didn't make a lot of putts," Westerman told the Victoria Advocate. "It was also comforting to know I had a good lead going to the back so I knew if I just went out and made pars I'd be in good shape. It was nice to get the job done."
Westerman trailed by three strokes after the first round to defending champion - Mark Bazan, shooting a 73 at the Colony Creek Country Club. In round two on Saturday, he moved into a tie along with two others after posting a 71 at the Riverside Golf Course. The entire tournament was played in Westerman's hometown of Victoria, Texas.
